Obstructing contact has graduated consequences under Law 12.318/2010 (parental alienation): warning, fines, compensatory increased contact and, in persistent cases, transfer of custody to the other parent. The pattern must be proven — isolated incidents differ from systematic obstruction.
Distance does not eliminate the right: videocall schedules, extended summer periods and split holidays keep contact viable across cities or countries. International cases add the Hague Convention layer — international family law covers the cross-border issues.
